Stephanie Lestz is an integral part of our patient concierge team. She is from Roslyn, New York and comes from a close-knit family that includes two siblings. We had the chance to ask her about what led her to join Midtown Integrative Health & Wellness.
Question: What led you to a career in healthcare?
Answer: Once I decided not to be a teacher, I started thinking about other careers. Healthcare seemed like a natural choice, because I grew up with family members that are doctors. Besides MIHAW, I have also worked in audiology and dentistry.
Q: What are your favorite parts of your job?
A: I enjoy interacting with patients and getting to hear about their lives. I also appreciate being the Office Birthday and Welcome Coordinator for staff members. I make sure that a new employee or new doctor gets a welcome card and that every staff member gets a birthday card. This increases the company morale and puts everyone in a good mood, which in turn helps the patients.
Q: What are your interests outside of work?
A: I love dancing, music, animals, and movies. I have been dancing, since I was five years old and have played multiple instruments, including the drums. Animals are amazing and I cannot imagine my life without them. I always had pets and was able to teach all of them tricks. Cats and dogs are the easiest to train, but I was also able to train my bird, too. I currently have a cat that can play fetch and catch toys in the air.
